AUSTIN, TX –  A coalition of five diverse, Austin-based arts organizations is going all in to expand community and support around the Austin Arts Culture with a Roaring 20s-themed Speakeasy Casino Night fundraiser set for Saturday, October 25th at Vesper at 3106 East 14 ½th Street, Austin, Texas. This is a ticketed in-person event for persons 21 and over.

Hosted by ATX Arts Collaborative, a coalition of nonprofits (Blue Lapis Light, Groundwork Music Project, Leap of Joy, Rancho Alegre and SteelRadio), this evening will be the Cat’s Meow and will feature classic casino games, live jazz, dancing, light bites and handcrafted cocktails, and a silent auction, presented in a glamorous Speakeasy-styled venue – all in the spirit of raising awareness and resources for Austin’s arts scene.

The event aims to raise vital funds to support dance and music programming, youth instruction, and operational services for local arts groups – filling critical gaps left by declining city and national arts funding.

Rancho Alegre, whose mission is to preserve and promote Conjunto music and presents the annual Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival, knows these challenges all too well; it was one of the organizations that was affected when the National Endowment for the Arts cancelled millions of dollars in federal grants earlier this year.

“This event is about more than just a fun night out, dressed to the nines – it’s about keeping the arts alive and accessible in our community,” says Piper LeMoineof ATX Arts Collaborative and Rancho Alegre. “We’ve come together because we know we’re stronger when we support each other, and our Speakeasy Casino Night is our way of inviting Austinites to be part of that effort.”

Proceeds from the evening and the auction will directly benefit programs including: Free, or low-cost, music and dance classes for youth, local music festivals and public performances, technical and production support for small arts organizations and outreach and engagement efforts to keep the arts accessible.

As our city continues to grow and change, its vibrant artistic community faces new challenges. This event is a creative response to the shrinking funding landscape and a celebration of the power of collaboration in the face of adversity.

Tickets are available on atxarts.org for $100 per person and include casino-style gaming, light bites, cocktails and live jazz. The auction will feature gift cards, merchandise and other items generously donated by

ABOUT ATX ARTS COLLABORATIVE

In the spring of 2025, this group of five nonprofit organizations joined forces to address the urgent needs of the local arts community. Each organization brings a unique voice and mission – from traditional music preservation and support of new musical talent, to aerial dance and youth arts education – and is bound by a common vision: an Austin where the arts are supported, celebrated, and expanded for generations to come.
