Marcos Orozco & Blaze Brothers dominate the 7th Annual Guadalupe Tejano Awa

SAN ANTONIO, TX — The 7th Annual Guadalupe Tejano Awards lit up Mustang Sally’s in San Antonio, Texas, on Sunday (Nov. 23), honoring the artists, musicians, bands, and industry professionals who continue to elevate and preserve Tejano and Conjunto music. Since its debut in 2019, the awards show — founded by veteran promoter Andrew Belmarez in honor of his late mother, Guadalupe M. Belmarez — has grown into one of the city’s proudest cultural celebrations.

Big Winners of the Night

The evening’s standout was Marcos Orozco, who swept multiple major categories, solidifying his continued impact on the genre. Performing and recording with Grupo Rebelde, Orozco earned:

  • Male Entertainer of the Year
  • Bajo Player of the Year — Marcos Orozco
  • Additional wins for his bandmates brought even more shine to Rebelde’s camp.

Grupo Rebelde musicians tallied several top honors, making them the most-awarded group of the night:

  • Bass Player of the Year – Rick Vega
  • Keyboard Player of the Year – Juanito Guajardo
  • Drummer of the Year – Gabriel Barajas

Another major force of the evening was the Blaze Brothers, who walked away with three big wins:

  • Single of the Year – “Una Mas”
  • New Male Artist of the Year – Ben Peña
  • Country Band of the Year
  • Most Promising Band of the Year

The group’s momentum made them one of the night’s most celebrated rising acts.
