FLORESVILLE, TX — It was a night to remember at the Peanut Festival on Friday (Oct. 10) when Tejano stars Lucky Joe and Bobby Pulido shared the stage for a surprise performance of one of the genre’s most iconic songs, “Desvelado.” For Lucky Joe, it was more than just a duet — it was the realization of a lifelong dream.
Pulido invited Lucky Joe to join him mid-show, introducing the singer-songwriter to an excited crowd. Before the music began, Lucky Joe shared a heartfelt moment with fans and his longtime idol. “I was 17 years old when I met Bobby Pulido for the first time,” he said. “I had the honor of meeting him and his beautiful family that have always treated me with the utmost respect, and I thank you for that, Bobby. Thank you so much.”
Bobby smiled and turned to the audience, adding, “We’ve never sang this song together, so it’s our first time. I’m gonna let you take the lead. You’re gonna sing it for me.”
A visibly nervous but excited Lucky Joe replied, “I’m so nervous, but let’s do it.”
As the familiar opening chords of “Desvelado” filled the night air, the crowd erupted, singing every word to the 1995 classic alongside the two performers. The duet was not just a fan favorite—it was a touching celebration of Tejano music’s legacy across generations.
Following the show, Lucky Joe reflected on the moment with Tejano Nation, calling it one of the highlights of his career. “Last night I felt my career come full circle,” he said. “I’ve known the Pulido family since I was 17 years old and have performed a lot of shows opening up for them. So, when Bobby asked if I wanted to sing one of his all-time hits with him, ‘Desvelado,’ I couldn’t let that opportunity pass by! I’m super appreciative for the invite and will never forget this for the rest of my life. ¡Que Viva La Música Tejana!”
The duet comes as Bobby Pulido nears the end of his Por La Puerta Grande Farewell Tour. The Latin Grammy winner plans to retire from music at the end of the year to focus on a new chapter — a run for Texas’ 15th congressional district in 2026. Earlier this year, Pulido released Bobby & Friends – Una Tuya y Una Mía, a live duets double album that earned him another Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album. He’s also preparing to release one final studio album in 2026, marking the official close of his celebrated music career.
Meanwhile, Lucky Joe continues to shine as one of Tejano’s most versatile and beloved artists. The award-winning accordionist, singer, and songwriter has earned numerous honors throughout his career, with six Tejano Music Awards including Male Vocalist of the Year (2019), along with a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album in 2019. He recently released a special edition of his album A Tu Lado Soy Feliz – Canciones Del Corazón Edición Especial
Friday night’s magical duet reminded fans why both artists hold such a special place in the hearts of Tejano music lovers — one as a living legend, and the other as a proud torchbearer of the genre’s vibrant future.
¡Que Viva La Música Tejana!
