San Antonio, Texas — The Academy of Tejano Music has officially announced key details for La Sexta Entrega de los Premios Tejano Mundial 2026, the premier awards ceremony honoring excellence and innovation across the Tejano music industry. The star-studded celebration will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium (901 N Loop 1604 Acc Rd). Fans can kick off the excitement early with Red Carpet event beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Honoring the Best in Tejano Music
Premios Tejano Mundial recognizes the artists, creators, and cultural leaders shaping the future of Tejano music. From established icons to emerging artists, the awards highlight outstanding contributions across the genre’s full spectrum.
Key dates include:
- Nominations: December 1–31, 2025 (closes 12 PM CST)
- Voting: January 6–16, 2026 (closes 12 PM CST)
- Winners Announced: Live during the February 5 awards ceremony
Fan-Powered Categories
Tejano fans will once again play a critical role in determining winners in several marquee fan-voted categories:
- Entertainer of the Year
- New Artist of the Year
- Group/Duo of the Year
- Collaboration of the Year
- Social Artist of the Year
- Song of the Year (Homenaje)
Industry categories — including vocal performance, songwriting, engineering, production, and Songs of the Year — will be determined by Academy voting members. A specialized committee will select the winner for Video of the Year.

The Academy of Tejano Music has opened applications and renewals for 2026 membership. Membership levels include:
- Voting Members: Eligible to vote in industry categories and receive two VIP tickets to Premios Tejano Mundial
- Professional Members: Supporting the advancement and visibility of Tejano music
- Student Members: Encouraging and empowering the next generation of Tejano artists and creators
