SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The excitement is building in the “Tejano Music Capital of the World” as the 7th Annual Guadalupe Tejano Awards take over Mustang Sally’s tonight (Nov. 23), honoring the artists, musicians, and industry professionals who continue to shape and elevate Tejano and Conjunto music.
Since launching in 2019, the Guadalupe Awards — founded by veteran promoter Andrew Belmarez — have stood as a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Guadalupe M. Belmarez, whose name and legacy remain the driving force behind the show. The event celebrates cultural pride, musical heritage, and the dedicated talent keeping Tejano music thriving across generations.

This year’s nominees highlight an impressive mix of legendary performers and rising stars, with several artists earning multiple nods across key categories.
Among the top nominees:
• Marcos Orozco & Grupo Rebelde lead the field with nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year, Tejano Band of the Year, Single of the Year for “A Cambio De Que,” and individual recognition for band members Juanito Guajardo (Keyboard Player), Gabriel Barajas (Drummer), and Rick Vega (Bass Player).
• Jay Perez continues his reign as an industry powerhouse with nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year, Tejano Band of the Year, Single of the Year for “Incompetente En El Amor,” and Keyboard Player of the Year for Eric Avalos.
• Lucky Joe racks up major recognitions, including Accordionist of the Year, Tejano Norteño Band of the Year, and Single of the Year with “A.M.O.”
• Stefani Montiel dominates the female categories with nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year, Female Entertainer of the Year, and a producer nod for Gabriel Zavala in Keyboard Player of the Year.
