SAN ANTONIO — The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center Theater Arts program will bring a unique blend of humor, creativity, and cultural commentary to the stage with the full production of El Pazchuco for Prez, written and directed by Rodney Garza. The play will run September 25–27, 2025, at 8 p.m. inside the SAY Sí Black Box Studio in San Antonio.

Set in a parallel universe called the Los United Estates of Aztlan, the production follows El Pazchuco, a charismatic, zoot-suited lecturer navigating the chaotic world of “politricks.” With sharp wit and over-the-top antics, his unconventional crusade challenges the status quo while delivering thought-provoking laughs.

“I wanted to create a space where we can laugh at the chaos of our political landscape while also prompting audiences to think critically about their role in it,” Garza explained. “El Pazchuco embodies the spirit of resilience and creativity that we need in these times. It’s a call to action wrapped in laughter.”

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center continues its mission of cultivating and celebrating Chicano, Latino, and Native American arts through diverse programming that engages the community. El Pazchuco for Prez is a National Performance Network Creation & Development Fund Project, co-commissioned by the Guadalupe and Cara Mia Theatre in Dallas, with support from major national foundations and arts organizations.

After its San Antonio debut, the production will also travel to Dallas as part of Cara Mia Theatre’s 6th Annual Latinidades Theatre Festival, with performances scheduled for October 3–4, 2025.
