SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo, Texas-based Rita Capuchina y Ánimo have released their uplifting new single, “¿Qué Haces?”, an energetic cumbia that carries a deeply personal story of perseverance and living life to the fullest.
More than just a danceable track, “¿Qué Haces?” was inspired by Rita’s son’s incredible journey. At just 14 years old, he suffered a major stroke that led to a 60-day hospital stay and years of rehabilitation. Against the odds, he not only recovered but thrived — now living independently, working full-time in the medical field, and recently buying his first home.
“The song aims to encourage listeners to live each day to the fullest, despite any struggles they may face,” Rita shared.
Co-written by Rita Capuchina and José Rosario and produced by Tejano music icon Shelly Lares, “¿Qué Haces?” is also the title track from the group’s debut album, now available on all major streaming platforms. Rita expressed her gratitude on social media, saying, “I’m an independent artist just working hard to bring you music straight from the heart.”
The ¡Qué Haces! album features nine original tracks and one heartfelt cover. “So BLESSED to have worked with some of the best in the business,” Rita added. “The cover was chosen for YOU, our supporters.”
With its vibrant rhythm and inspirational message, “¿Qué Haces?” marks a promising beginning for Rita Capuchina y Ánimo, setting the tone for a debut album that’s as personal as it is celebratory.
