CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Tejano Music Awards-nominated singer Megan Chapa is officially back with a brand-new single, Quiero Más,” after taking a break from music. The Corpus Christi-based vocalist shared the news with fans via social media, expressing her excitement about the release and gratitude to those who continue to support her journey.

“I really, really hope y’all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it,” Megan said in a heartfelt video message. “I want to thank the songwriter Axel Daniel for writing such a beautiful song. It is something different, so all of you that have been following me for all these years, it’s going to be different for you. But I’m doing what I want to do, what I love to do, and that’s all that matters.”

Chapa also credited her producer, Bones, for allowing her to fully express herself artistically. “Thank you for believing in me and letting me be myself, choose what I want to do, the style of music, and just follow my dream with me,” she said.

Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Megan Chapa’s musical journey began at a young age. At 7, she was already showing undeniable passion for music, and by 12, she was the lead vocalist for Grupo Sensación. At just 15, she launched her own band, Megan y Velocidad, which later led to a solo artist contract with Universal Records. Throughout her career, Megan has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Tejano and Norteño music.

Her debut album Mi Diario (2015) earned her a Best New Female Artist nomination at the 2016 Tejano Music Awards, while her 2017 release Sueños Inquebrantables received critical acclaim with hits like “Víveme” and “Nuestra Historia Se Acabó,” a collaboration with Wences Romo. That same year, her digital greatest hits collection Desde Principio landed at #10 on the iTunes Latin Charts, featuring a fan-favorite cover of Selena’s “Si Una Vez.”

After stepping away from the spotlight in 2019 to embrace motherhood, Megan returned to music in 2022 by launching her own independent label, Megan Chapa Music. Since then, she’s experimented with a variety of genres, releasing the jazzy swing-pop track “Mujer Afortunada” and a festive Mariachi rendition of Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas.” Her most recent single “Tiempo Robado” leaned into an alternative pop-rock vibe, showcasing her vocal versatility and fearless artistry.

Now with “Quiero Más,” Megan continues to break boundaries while staying true to her passion for music. “For all those that are going to continue supporting me, thank you so much,” she told fans. “And for those that don’t want to, it’s okay. Life goes on. I’m still happy doing what I love to do… and I’m going to be creating more music, doing what I want to do now."

“Quiero Más” is available now on all digital music platforms
