SAN ANTONIO, TX — After the first show sold out in just 10 hours, Jaime’s Place has announced a second night for Little Joe’s 85th Birthday Celebration, now set for Friday, October 10, 2025, at their popular venue on the city’s Historic Westside (1514 W. Commerce). The original Saturday night show (October 11) sold out almost immediately, proving that the legendary “King of the Brown Sound” remains one of Tejano music’s most beloved and enduring figures.
In addition to celebrating the life and legacy of Little Joe, both nights will feature a high-energy opening performance by La 45, the dynamic young band often referred to as the “Next Generation Chicanos.” Known for their classic Tejano sound infused with youthful passion and powerhouse horns, La 45 adds an exciting multigenerational element to the weekend festivities.
Tickets for the newly added Friday night performance are on sale now at Jaime’s Place and online, with reserved seating available for fans eager to get up close to the iconic singer and enjoy a night of unforgettable Tejano music.
Little Joe, born José María De León Hernández, may be turning 85, but he shows no signs of slowing down. In a recent revealing interview on The Bo Corona Show on Fierro HD, the Grammy-winning icon reflected on more than 60 years in the music industry, the recent loss of his wife of 62 years, Criselida, and his plans for future projects. Her passing in October 2024 marked a deeply personal moment that inspired Joe to write a touching tribute song — one he says he still struggles to record.
“I wrote a song for her,” he shared. “And I haven’t been able to get to record it. I just can’t get myself to record it, but I will.”
Despite the heartache, Little Joe is as creatively driven as ever. He spoke of an innovative new project in the works — something he describes as a fresh and groundbreaking concept for the Tejano market.
“It’s something like I’ve never heard anybody do,” he explained. “And it’s something I have not done, especially in this market. So yeah, I’m really excited about it.”
At the heart of it all is Joe’s unshakable connection to his audience. He continues to favor intimate venues like Jaime’s Place, where fans can share memories, hugs, and tears as he performs timeless hits from his decades-spanning discography.
“I love the people,” he said. “When I sing those old songs, I see them sing, cry, and smile. It’s just a real connection with the audience.”
With more than 70 albums, multiple Grammy wins, and a legacy that helped shape the sound of Chicano and Tejano music, Little Joe’s birthday celebration promises to be more than a concert — it’s a powerful tribute to resilience, culture, and the music that unites generations.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of history with a true Tejano legend, backed by rising stars La 45 — only at Jaime’s Place this October.
