SAN ANTONIO, TX — Angelica Alcoser and Tweet Juarez of Angelica y Moneda are forging their own path in Tejano music, blending tradition with innovation — and their latest moves prove it. Fresh off their trip to New York City for the prestigious Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC), Angelica shared insights from the experience, celebrated the release of their latest EP La Casa de Moneda, and gave fans a sneak peek behind their newest music video, “Qué Haré Con Este Amor.”

Angelica, the 2022 Tejano Music Awards winner for Best New Female Artist, recently spoke with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo to reflect on her time at the LAMC, an influential industry event filled with powerful sessions and networking opportunities. “We attended panels led by professionals from TikTokMetaWarner Music LatinaSony Music, and BMI,” she said. “It was educational — a very intentional trip to learn and connect.”

The four-day event also featured inspirational sessions like Wonder Women of Latin Music, hosted by Amazon Music, and live performances in Central Park. “We didn’t know all the artists, but the vibe was amazing,” Angelica shared. “New York is a melting pot — it felt good to be part of something that showcased so many different cultures and genres.”

While the group has regularly performed at the annual Vegas Tejano Takeover, this year they chose to shift focus. “Since our new EP was out, we decided to try something new,” said Angelica. “This was about growth. It’s about finding ways to elevate Tejano music on a broader stage.”

That commitment to evolution is evident in La Casa de Moneda, their latest six-track EP. The genre-blending collection combines the band’s love of Tejano, Conjunto, and classic rock with modern grooves and bold experimentation. “We’re still exploring and finding our sound,” said Angelica. “But I truly love the groove on this EP — it’s fresh, but still rooted in what makes Tejano music special.”

The standout track, “Qué Haré Con Este Amor,” written by Eddie Castillo and Cesar Morquecho, comes to life in a newly released music video directed by acclaimed videographer Ryan Bazan. “We rarely do videos, but we really want to do more,” said Angelica. “It gives fans a visual connection to who we are as a band.”

Other highlights from the EP include the lead single “Extrañame Ahora Baby,” penned by Martín Gil, which has made waves on the Tejano Gold Countdown and other platforms, and “Quiero Baby,” written by Luis Garcia, which is expected to be the next radio release. The project also features a rock-influenced track by Michael Rodriguez, adding even more diversity to the EP’s soundscape.

Produced by Grammy Award winner Eddie Perez (La Calma) and longtime collaborator Michael Rodriguez, the project was recorded at Gruene Studios in New Braunfels, Texas. “Eddie and Mikey really brought our vision to life,” said Angelica. “We’d love to work with them again — our goal is to release a new EP every year.”

Both Angelica and Tweet are now dual Grammy members, having joined the Latin Recording Academy and the Recording Academy this year — a milestone that adds even more momentum to their rising career.

Through it all, the duo remains focused on balancing authenticity with innovation. “We still love traditional Tejano, but we want to evolve it for younger generations too,” Angelica said. “This EP is our way of showing that you can stay true to your roots while creating something fresh. We hope it inspires other artists to keep experimenting and pushing Tejano music forward."
