After a four-year hiatus from the music scene, Tejano singer-songwriter Hailyn Bella has made a poignant return with her latest single, “Soy De Ti.” This release follows the earlier debut of “Lavándome” and marks the second of three singles leading up to her highly anticipated full-length album, set to drop on October 10.
Bella stepped away from her musical career in 2021 following the passing of her father, Salvador Bella, due to complications from COVID-19. In an intimate conversation with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, she shared, “Everybody’s grieving process is different. I wrote a letter to my dad and told him, ‘I’m ready now.’ It’s been almost four years, and I can do this. It’s not so scary to go into the studio without him cheering me on because he’s still here—it’s just in a different way.”
Embracing Her Roots and Collaborating with The Klubjumpers
Teaming up with The Klubjumpers—a renowned San Antonio-based production duo consisting of brothers Sam Michaels and Dan Mathews, known for over 80 Billboard charting songs and multiple Gold and Platinum Records—Hailiny feels she has found the right team to realize her artistic vision. “This is what I always dreamed about,” she expressed. “What I always wanted was to be an artist full time. And I’m really giving my all—focusing on it and being a role model. Like, hey, if you just keep going, you’re eventually going to get there. Just don’t give up, no matter how crazy it looks.”
A proud native of Laredo, Texas, Bella also spent formative years in San Antonio. “I’m excited to represent 956 and 210,” she shared. “I’m super proud of my roots in Laredo and being able to showcase that. I moved to San Antonio when I was 17 to go to school, and that’s where I grew up and became a business owner. Now, coming full circle and moving back to Laredo, it’s really cool to see it all come together.”
“Soy De Ti”: A Tale of Bittersweet Love
“Soy De Ti” is a deeply personal track, inspired by a real-life experience. Bella recounted a memorable day spent with a close friend, where their bond was so evident that strangers assumed they were a married couple. “We went shopping, out for lunch, and everyone assumed we were married everywhere we went,” she recalled. “We were just being normal friends, not holding hands or anything, but people felt that we were together and that’s what makes it even more special.”
The day took an unexpected turn when a misunderstanding with law enforcement led to Bella signing an affidavit stating he was her husband to avoid serious charges. “Of course I signed the document and ‘my husband’ didn’t say we weren’t married so that we could get off with a warning and not get arrested and into big trouble with the law!” she laughed. This unique experience inspired the song, capturing the bittersweet emotions of a love that remained unspoken.

Looking Ahead: A Genre-Blending Album on the Horizon
With her album scheduled for release on October 10, Bella is set to showcase a fusion of Tejano roots with contemporary pop influences. “This album is going to be, in a way, a crossover blend album, where we’re going and we’re paying tribute to my Tejano roots and how the Tejano music embraced me with open arms and bringing it to a new sound,” she explained. “Don’t put me in a box. You know, I can do anything. Like I really believe that I can do whatever type of music.”
“Soy De Ti” is now available on all digital music platforms. Fans can anticipate more heartfelt stories and genre-defying tracks as Hailyn Bella continues to share her journey through music.
