Ricardo Castillon Y La Diferenzia have officially announced the release date for their long-awaited comeback album. The highly anticipated project, titled Renacimiento del Phoenix, is set to drop on April 25, 2025, marking a powerful return to the signature sound that made them a staple in Tejano music during the ’90s.
“We went back to our roots for this album,” shared frontman Ricardo Castillon. “Over the last 15 years, I experimented with various sounds, but they never captured the true essence of La Diferenzia. I was navigating through a lot of different emotions during that time, but now La Diferenzia is back and stronger than ever. This is the sound that made La Diferenzia a household name in the ’90s!”
Renacimiento del Phoenix will feature 12 original tracks, all rooted in the band’s classic blend of heartfelt ballads and infectious cumbias. The album’s title—meaning “Rebirth of the Phoenix”—symbolizes a powerful resurgence, echoing the mythological bird that rises from the ashes stronger than before.

This new chapter in La Diferenzia’s journey is a collaborative labor of love with Ricardo’s trusted production team, including Rolando Revilla Jr. and Fabian Hernandez, the award-winning duo recognized for their work on Jay Perez’s Latin Grammy-nominated album El Patron, which recently won Album of the Year at the 44th Tejano Music Awards.
“It’s time to do it again,” Ricardo declared. “But this time, it’s for the love of the music and for my people!”
