A Legacy of Voices and Vision

Jay Perez, often referred to as “La Voz,” has long been a dominant force in the Tejano music scene. Known for his soulful vocals and smooth blend of R&B with traditional Tejano, Perez has earned countless accolades, including multiple Tejano Music Awards. Since launching his solo career in the early 1990s after his time with Latin Breed and the David Lee Garza band, Jay has continued to captivate fans with his heartfelt performances and genre-pushing albums.

Joining him on this special track is Sunny Ozuna, a cornerstone of Tejano and Chicano soul. As the frontman of Sunny and the Sunliners, Ozuna became a household name in the 1960s, breaking racial barriers by becoming one of the first Mexican-American artists to appear on “American Bandstand.” His velvety voice and romantic ballads have influenced generations of Latin musicians.

At the helm of the collaboration is Freddie Martinez, Sr., a Tejano music pioneer and founder of Freddie Records. With a career spanning more than five decades, Martinez not only made his mark as a successful recording artist but also helped shape the genre through his label, launching and supporting the careers of many of Tejano’s biggest stars. His contributions earned him induction into the Tejano Music Hall of Fame and a revered place in the hearts of fans and artists alike.

This collaboration between Jay Perez, Sunny Ozuna, and Freddie Martinez, Sr. is not just a song—it’s a celebration of Tejano heritage, a meeting of legends, and a testament to the timeless power of the music that continues to bring generations together.
