The film will also include heartfelt interviews with those who were closest to Selena, capturing her charisma, humility, and the deep bond she shared with her family. Viewers will be transported back to the 1990s through nostalgic home videos, offering a warm and personal glimpse into Selena’s life.

“Selena y Los Dinos” is part of the U.S. Documentary Competition at Sundance, which will take place from January 23 to February 2, 2025, in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. For those unable to attend in person, the documentary will be available for online viewing from January 30 to February 2.

This highly anticipated film is a celebration of Selena’s enduring legacy and her groundbreaking contributions to música mexicana and the Tejano genre. Whether you are a lifelong fan or new to her music, “Selena y Los Dinos” offers a unique opportunity to experience the magic of Selena’s story.

The latest project about Selena follows a series of notable portrayals of the late icon. In 1997, the documentary Selena Remembered, narrated by Edward James Olmos, offered a reflective look at her life. That same year, the narrative film Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez, was released and has since become a cultural staple, even earning a spot in the National Film Registry in 2021. More recently, Netflix released a scripted series in 2020, with Christian Serratos taking on the role of Selena, further cementing her enduring legacy in popular culture.
