Max Bacaof Grammy Award-winning groupLos Texmaniacshas been released from the hospital as he continues to recover with COVID-19, according to a post on the conjunto group’s official Facebook page on Monday.
“We Like to take the time right now to thank everybody for all their prayers,” said the post. “Our fearless leader Max Baca, he is home and out of the hospital not at a full 100 but home and he will be rocking his bajo sexto this weekend.”
Baca was hospitalized on Nov. 12, a few days after a positive diagnosis. He began to feel ill after a performance in Louisiana on Nov. 7,according toSan Antonio Report. A San Antonio hospital had no available rooms to admit him after the diagnosis, Baca decided to self-administer medical equipment until there was a need for hospitalization.

Los Texmaniacs were created by Baca in 1997 incorporating elements from genres such as Rock & Roll and Jazz, while still honoring the roots of conjunto and Tejano. The San Antonio, Texas-based band received their second Grammy nomination forCruzando Bordersin 2019. In 2010, the band won a Grammy Award for Tejano Album of The Year forBorders y Bailes.
