Florida Teen Disarms, Stabs Man Who Tried To Sexually Assault Her

Mohammad Munshi, 67

A 17-year-old girl from Florida was able to fend off a gas station clerk who tried to rape her while she attempted to use the bathroom. The girl, who has not been identified, went to a Chevron station around 3 a.m. to purchase some frozen dinners and use the bathroom.

While she was inside, the clerk, identified as 67-year-old Mohammad Munshi, locked the front door of the convenience store and followed her into the bathroom. He pulled out a pocketknife but the girl began to fight back and managed to take away his knife, slashing him in the stomach as she ran off.

The girl did not call the police because of her immigration status. Munshi called 911 about 20 minutes later and told the police that he was attacked by a shoplifter. Officials say that his story kept changing and they realized he was lying after they reviewed the surveillance camera footage.

He was charged with one count of armed sexual battery and had to surrender his Bangladesh-issued passport. He spent six days in jail before posting a $75,000 bond.
