Max Baca of Los Texmaniacs hospitalized with COVID-19

Max Bacaof Grammy Award-winning groupLos Texmaniacsis currently hospitalized with COVID-19, according to a post on the Tex-Mex group’s official Facebook page on Sunday.

The post said, “We would like to say a prayer for Max Baca, he is in the hospital fighting COVID-19. All your prayers and good vibes for our fearless leader.”

Los Texmaniacs have been performing over the past couple of weeks with stops in Texas and Louisana, according to posts on the band’s Facebook page.

The San Antonio, Texas-based band received their second Grammy nomination forCruzando Bordersin 2019. Los Texmaniacs were created by Baca in 1997 incorporating elements from genres such as Rock & Roll and Jazz, while still honoring the roots of conjunto and Tejano. In 2010, the band won a Grammy Award for Tejano Album of The Year forBorders y Bailes.
