The 40th annualTejano Music Awardswill be different this year due to COVID-19 and is set for a virtual live stream performance on Dec. 19.Bino Gaona, Event Director for the Tejano Music Awards shared details on how Tejano fans can enjoy and participate in “Tejano music’s biggest night.”
With the TMAs about a month away, the industry ballot will be sent out this week for Tejano industry members to vote and confirm qualifications for each artist that submitted their music from 2019 to be considered in categories for this year’s event. The public ballot will follow with Tejano music fans able to vote, with the announcement of the official Top 5 nominees to be announced soon after the votes have been tabulated.

The Tejano Music Awards is the longest-running awards show for the Tejano music genre. Categories include Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Tejano and Conjunto, Collaboration/Duo of the Year, and Best New Artist for Male, Female, and Group.
